The problem every school knows

Each year the state delivers a detailed file with every student's scores and performance levels. It holds the answers schools need — which grades are gaining, which subjects are slipping, which students need support — but those answers stay locked in rows and columns that almost no one has the time or tools to open. Schools end up data rich, but information poor.

DataVot exists to fix exactly that. Here is what that looks like.

Your results, the moment the file is uploaded

Nothing was built to produce this. The chart exists as soon as the data set is uploaded, and it is aggregated on the server — the browser receives counts, never student rows.

Ask your own question, without asking a person

Save the layout and it becomes a report. A saved report stores the layout rather than a copy of the data, so next year's file appears in last year's report automatically.

The board presentation, already built

The template compares year against year, so it fills in fully once you have two years uploaded — and the state's own figures are published the autumn after a spring administration. Questions and answers sets out both, and what DataVot does not do.

Built for New Jersey schools

DataVot speaks NJSLA natively — official data sets, performance levels, proficiency cuts, test codes, and subjects, all framed around how New Jersey schools actually work. It's a standalone, browser-based application built specifically for state assessment data, not a generic spreadsheet tool you have to bend to fit.

Privacy and security you can show your board

• Your data is never sold, published, or used to train a model, with no exception for anonymized or aggregated data. No outside company ever receives it for its own purposes — only our named infrastructure providers, working solely on our instructions.
• Dashboards return aggregated counts only — raw student rows never leave the server for a chart.
• Encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-GCM), with role-based access for every user.
• Support access needs your consent — short-lived, audited, never uses a password, and visible on screen while it is active.
• FERPA-aligned, and built around SOPPA-NJ and the New Jersey Data Privacy Act.
• We'll sign your DPA — your school's own, or the New Jersey SDPC National Data Privacy Agreement (NDPA).

Each of those is written up rather than merely asserted. The Security Overview covers encryption, who can reach the data, two-factor authentication, the tamper-evident audit trail, where the database lives, and how DataVot rates against every category of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework — including what we have not met. It is a vendor self-assessment, and it says so.

DataVot runs on rented infrastructure, as all software does — Cloudflare for hosting, database, security and request processing, and Resend for transactional email delivery. They are named, they work only on our instructions, and they may not use your data for anything of their own. Data protection sets out exactly what that does and does not mean.

Built by an educator, for educators

DataVot was founded by an educator of thirty years — including about a decade as a New Jersey district testing technology coordinator who wrestled with the very same assessment spreadsheets schools face today. It's built and operated through Salesforce Hub LLC, an independent New Jersey company.

What it costs

One plan, one price, no tier to compare and no module sold separately. The figures live in one place so they cannot drift apart: Pricing sets out the price, what it includes, what is never charged for, and how you pay. Every price is agreed in writing before anything is invoiced, and terms never renew automatically — each year is a decision you make, not one that happens to you.
